Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Dr. Fred Matiang’i has called on his competitors to put forward their track record as he does the same in a bid to determine who is best fit for the presidency ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on Tuesday at the party headquarters, Matiang’I said that he left his World Bank job to return to Kenya and serve his fellow citizens.
He stated that he believes it is the citizens who will make a decision and not those who claim he does not know politics.
“This campaign is going to be ward-based, we will drive this campaign at the ward level…we will move house to house, it is going to be a ward-based campaign,” he said.
“Those who like to tell me I don’t know who has not done politics, we will meet in the villages we look for votes…we will talk to Kenyans.”
He opined that Kenyans know each of the candidates and their capabilities, further stating that there is no longer room for lies.
The presidential candidate also hinted at secretive talks with some leaders who are buying time to join the Jubilee party.
In the meeting, Matiang’i welcomed all the new party members and Nairobi County party aspirants, guaranteeing them of wins across the country.
“As Donald Trump says, we will win these seats even in the wards, even in Nairobi and across the country….we will win win win and even get tired of winning,” said the former Interior Cabinet Secretary.
“Ukiona mood ya country venye iko, na mazungumzo yale tuko nayo na watu sisi hatupendangi kuringia watu…sisi tunasema tukutane mahali kazi iko.”
