David Gideon Kariuki and operator Alex Kasaine Kataiyo are said to have been involved in malpractice on November 3, 2025 and were arrested after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) approved the charges.

They were apprehended in Embu/Kibiko, Ngong, and Isinya, respectively.

The new development comes a few months after a video emerged online showing alleged bullying of younger students by older learners at Merishaw School has sparked public outrage and concern among parents. The boy has since been discharged from hospital and transferred from the school.

The video was reportedly captured on February 17, 2026, and the matter is still pending with police. The school in a statement never denied that the incident happened inside the shool but rather termed it as an ‘old video’
