A 36-year-old woman suspected of masquerading as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya has been arrested by detectives from Kitengela Police Station after allegedly obtaining Sh82,000 by false pretences.
The suspect, Maureen Auma Andary, was cornered today at Chuna Mall, Kitengela, by detectives acting on intelligence that she was posing as a qualified advocate and carrying out fraudulent transactions.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Andary had been passing herself off as an advocate and allegedly claiming to work with Wafula & Co. Advocates, Kitengela.
The trail leading to her arrest began on September 11, 2026, when the matter was reported after suspicions were raised over her activities.
Detectives have since established that the suspect allegedly obtained Sh82,000 from a client, after falsely representing that she would file applications in connection with a matter pending before the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.
With the suspect now in custody, detectives are widening their investigations to establish whether other unsuspecting members of the public may have fallen victim to the alleged scheme.
