Ken Guchu: The fraudster who scammed investors under Dhamani Real Estate establishes Hodari Homes; eyes closure

Ken Guchu and Jane Kabebe fraud can only be described as a deliberate scheme that has left thousands of investors paying millions of shillings they had taken as loan from Banks in the hope of owning land with Dhamani Real Estate , a land selling company turned off-plan developer that was owned by Mr. Guchu and Ms. Jane Kabebe.

Along the way, Dhamani Real Estate went under with investors money and Mr. Guchu would take a small break and later register Hodari Homes that is also at the centre of the storm over unfulfilled promises where the company is reportedly selling the land where they are not the legal owners of the properties.

Mr. Guchu is the founder and managing director of Hodari Homes.

One of the most affected projects where investors lost millions is Westside in Rumuruti where it has emerged that tge same plots that Dhamani Real Estate sold to customers is also being claimed by another group.

”I was a manager at Dhamani Real Estate where Ken Guchu and Jane Kabebe were the joint founders of the company. Along the way, Mr. Guchu started siphoning money from the company and eventually it went down. We later came to realize that while he was working at Dhamani Real Estate, he had a parrarel company now Hodari Homes and that is where he was taking money. We have tried reaching him, but he doesn’t pick calls and the clients are on the sales managers and marketers who sold the properties to them,” a senior manager whom we will identfy as M.K for his safety and who used to work at Dhamani Real Estate told this publication

”Mr. Guchu has managed to bribe the mainstream media who wanted to highlight our issue when they called them enquiring about our situation and we are appealing to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate the matter,” another victim who lost Sh 470,000 said yesterday.

They claim, everytime they ask for title deeds, Mr. Guchu demands that they add more money contrary to the sales agreement they had signed when they bought the property.

Even as this happens, this publication has learnt that Mr. Guchu has registered another company and is in the process of closing down Hodari Homes.

In Malindi, Nyahururu, clients who bought with Hodari Homes have been chasing for elusive title deeds and have threatened legal actions against Mr. Guchu.
