Co-operative Bank splashes millions to Kenya Police FC in latest sponsorship deal

On Wednesday, the club will begin their league title defence against Ulinzi Stars FC, having missed the opening two rounds due to continental commitments

Reigning FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police FC have been handed a huge financial boost after landing a Kshs 25 million sponsorship from the Co-operative Bank of Kenya.

The Law Enforcers, who are representing the country in the CAF Champions League, secured a place in the second round of the qualifiers on Sunday.

They are a step away from the group stages, where they could become the first-ever Kenyan team to reach that level if they overcome Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman.

As the team prepares for the new season, the sponsorship comes as a timely boost.

Club patron Dr. Raymond Omollo took to social media to thank the bank for its support.

“As Patron of the Kenya Police Football Club, I was honoured to receive a generous sponsorship package of Kshs 25 million from the senior leadership of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya,” read the statement from the Interior Ministry PS.

“We are deeply grateful to the bank for this timely support, which comes as the club, reigning champions of last season’s FKF Premier League, continues to fly our flag high in the ongoing CAF tournament.

The arrival of Co-op Bank adds to the list of partners already supporting the club, which includes a gaming firm, an airline, and a Sacco.

Police FC remains the only club in the league boasting multiple sponsorships, both financial and in-kind.

On Wednesday, the club will begin its league title defence against Ulinzi Stars FC, having missed the opening two rounds due to continental commitments.

Coach Danstun Nyaudo’s side will provide the first domestic test of the season for the champions.

Kenya Police etched their name into the history books last season after outmuscling Gor Mahia in the title race to clinch their first-ever league crown, a triumph that secured them a maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League.
